Nautilus

A spiral wall of angled vertical wood slats that coils from a low inner curl up to a tall outer end, held between black base and cap bands. Slotted plywood rings set the curve and slat spacing, and curved parts were cut on the shop's CNC router. The spiral was test-assembled in the shop yard, with the cap still raw plywood, then installed on a raised outdoor platform in late April 2023. At the event it carried rows of hanging cards and trailing greenery, with a floral bed at the inner curl.
