Ruby Gillman Porthole

A freestanding backdrop wall: an underwater-gradient flat with a round porthole cut through it, framed by a white ring lettered 'Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken' and trimmed with heavy rope, gold rivets and gold starfish, with black netting along the base. In the porthole sits a faux stained-glass panel of a long-haired figure with tentacle arms, rising from waves against a sunburst. Its translucent tinted fills were applied by hand inside cut outlines, finished with painted details, and lit from behind by a dense array of LED nodes. Photos date the build to May 29-June 4, 2023. The finished backdrop was photographed lit in a white-walled interior on June 5, 2023, and was set up on an outdoor patio with string lights and banquet tables on the evening of June 28, 2023.
